FIRST COAST WELLNESS COUNCIL EXCITED BY SUCCESS OF ERC’S L.I.F.E. WELLNESS PROGRAM
JACKSONVILLE, Florida, May 9, 2022 – ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, has been distinguished as a Gold Level “Healthiest Company” by the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council for the third continuous year.
The First Coast Worksite Council hosts the Healthiest Companies Award to recognize organizations committed to improving workplace health and well-being. Gold award winners are chosen as a result of their high standards of to employee health and wellness. Their program consists of a robust operating plan that includes an annual employee needs and interest survey to strategically promote programs that address their employees’ most prevalent health risks and conditions.
In 2021, ERC rebranded and revamped the wellness program. With the help of ERC’s internal employee engagement and communication app, myERC, ERC ran the “Rename Our Wellness Program” contest, and L.I.F.E. (Lifestyle Improvement Fueling Empowerment) was born. The next step was to optimize the program by surveying employees to gauge their needs and interests and build a new, more comprehensive program around the data collected.
The new program was modeled after the pillars of wellness to promote employees’ emotional, physical, financial, mental, and occupational health. With the help of lunch and learns, workshops, challenges, and wellness events, the L.I.F.E. program offers a well-rounded approach to health. These are some of the most popular projects the L.I.F.E. program has to offer:
- Wellness Markets – Wellness items offered at 50% off their list price on Amazon; employees pay half, and ERC subsidizes the rest. Employees can purchase stand-up desks, exercise equipment, and meal prep gadgets during these markets.
- Weight Loss Challenge – ERC organizes a weight loss challenge twice a year. Participants weigh in and receive support and the chance to win prizes each week during the challenge.
- Wellness Fair – Connects employees with ERC’s wellness partners. They receive information about their benefits, participate in free biometric screenings, and enjoy free samples from exhibitors.
These are just a few ways the L.I.F.E. program enables employees to increase and improve their
health.
“We are thrilled to have won this award,” said Al Teel, Director of Employee Engagement. “It’s
amazing to see how far we’ve come from our humble beginnings when we first launched our wellness program. Although the last three years have been marked by chaos and uncertainty, with L.I.F.E., we have a chance to support our employees amidst all the madness. We are committed to helping our employees feel empowered over their health and wellness with more outreach, fun challenges, preventive medicine, and education.”
