Dominican Republic’s re-certification comes for the third year in a row and amid a global pandemic
For the third year in a row, ERC one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions received the certification by the Dominican Republic government for health and safety in the workplace amid a global pandemic.
ERC is the first global contact center in the Dominican Republic that has attained the DR Ministry of Labor’s Certification for compliance with Regulation 522-06 on Health, Hygiene, and Safety at Work. This certification sets the standard for safety control measures and adequate health protocols in workspaces.
“ERC prides itself in creating world class centers,” said Jose Nelton Gonzalez, Executive Vice President of ERC. “This certification shows our commitment to our employees’ physical and mental well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
With this certification, ERC receives the seal of approval for both site locations in the Dominican Republic.
In an event held in April to commemorate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel De Camps García, delivered 379 certifications to companies that had successfully completed the rigorous certification process.
During his speech, De Camps expressed some of the challenges organizations and workers face in the post COVID-19 workplace and that the Health and Safety Certification is a tool to manage these challenges.
Responding to the call to action of the International Labor Organization, the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, spoke virtually at the conference.
“Anticipate the crisis, prepare, respond and invest today in resilient systems of safety and health at work,” said President Abinader who affirmed the government’s commitment to this approval measure.
