ERC’s employees come together to donate school supplies.
September saw many children in the Dominican Republic returning to brick-and-mortar schools after attending virtual classes due to the global pandemic. In August, ERC’s DR Employee Engagement team set up donation bins at its two sites to collect school supplies to help equip the girls from the Pasitos de Jesus Girls Home for the school year. ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, makes several visits to the orphanage and organizes fundraisers throughout the year to help Pasitos de Jesus.
During this event, ERC employees flocked to the bookstores to fill the donation bins supporting the school supply drive. The event was highly successful, and ERC’s team was able to outfit the girls with everything they needed to start the school year on the right track.
“Visiting Pasitos de Jesus has been one of the most rejoiceful experiences I ever had. Even though I cried a lot, knowing they have gone through difficult situations in their lives, seeing those girls smiling and hugging us made me understand that LOVE is the best medicine ever,” said Viandry Ramirez, ERC’s Engagement Coordinator.
For many years, ERC has been proud to sponsor Pasitos de Jesus, a girls’ home located in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. With over 40 girls ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years old, Pasitos de Jesus is a sanctuary for girls placed in the home through a court order due to terrible family circumstances like neglect or abuse. Pasitos de Jesus sets them on a path where they are safe and loved.
Through contributions by organizations like ERC, the girls have the support they need to grow into well-adjusted young women.
