As a growing player on the global stage, ERC embraces the opportunity to make the world a better place. It is a responsibility that ERC takes very seriously, as evidenced by the official partnership of Beaches Go Green and its participation in the upcoming World Cleanup Day.
Preserving our environment is an essential cause for ERC, especially given some of the startling statistics that illustrate how much damage is occurring on our planet. The amount of plastic and garbage in the ocean are stark reminders that everyone needs to come together to do what they can to preserve our natural resources for future generations.
“We have welcomed the opportunity to partner with BGG to not only impact the environment through volunteering events, but to further our own education and social awareness, while passing this knowledge along to our employees and onto our daily actions,” said Kim Howell, ERC’s Chief People Officer. That includes ERC making changes inside of its offices, such as educating employees about the threats facing the environment, reducing its usage of single-use plastics, and encouraging everyone to recycle.
ERC is proud to partner with Beaches Go Green for more than a year as it fights to educate the public about the four R’s — Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The nonprofit recently celebrated its first anniversary and continues to work at inspiring and educating people to make small, “green” changes in their lives.
“We are beyond excited and grateful to have the support of ERC,” said Anne Marie Moquin, the founder of Beaches Go Green. “This partnership enables Beaches Go Green to expand our educational reach and continue to push out eco-friendly educational materials to diverse communities of people.”
Social awareness is a key component of World Cleanup Day, which is being held in 157 countries around the world on Sept. 21 and aims to mobilize millions of positive-minded people into action. ERC is participating in an event at the Jacksonville Beach Pier hosted by Beaches Go Green and will have employees doing their part by volunteering to pick up trash and make other improvements.
ERC embraces its role as a leader and socially minded employer in the global community and seeks to inspire everyone — its employees and those living in the communities that ERC supports — to make a difference by volunteering, especially for important causes like this. ERC wants its employees from around the world to be a force for change. To that end, it operates ERC Cares, which promotes volunteer opportunities within its global footprint. “The decision to act or not to act is an easy one for us to make at ERC,” said Marty Sarim, ERC’s Chief Executive. “It is our goal, and should be the goal of every company, to improve our environment footprint and leave the world in a better place than how we found it.”
