ERC’S “GIRL BOSSES” GATHER TO HONOR FEMALE LEADERS
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, March 14, 2022 – Events are an essential part of ERC’s rich culture; employees exchange ideas, share best practices and get to know each other more personally. These connections have a lasting impact on employee retention and motivation. For ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, no event has been more meaningful or impactful than the “Empower the V.O.I.C.E. of Women” Workshop hosted by the V.O.I.C.E. Council in celebration of International Women’s Day 2022.
Observed on March 8 each year, International Women’s Day celebrates women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. The V.O.I.C.E. Council wanted to organize an event where ERC females from all walks of life, departments, and divisions could come together in sisterhood to inform, inspire, celebrate, and empower each other through shared stories and experiences. Attendees were able to walk away with a better sense of what it takes to be a successful leader.
This landmark event, which spanned four days, was hosted at each of our Domestic sites to ensure females from every region had a chance to attend. Global guests from locations outside of the United States also had the opportunity to participate in the event virtually via Zoom. “We wanted to create a safe space where women could explore important topics in women’s empowerment,” said Shakerah Sims, Employee Development Manager. “Leadership, personal and professional success, what it means to be a female in today’s world… these concerns are all very important and very relevant. Women need to have these conversations. The atmosphere was supercharged with ‘Girl Boss Power’. I know that we touched many lives.”
Among the distinguished speakers were ERC leadership powerhouses Kim Howell, Chief HR Officer, Kelly Paul, SVP of Sales, Jessica Atkinson, Director of Program Management, and Sandra Maignan, Director of Operations, Recovery, who regaled attendees with their personal stories of empowerment, perseverance, and personal growth. On the final day, the panelists, who included Kirk Moquin, ERC Founder and Chairman of the Board, fielded questions from the audience.
“This is a new tradition in the making,” said Sandra Maignan, Director of Operations, Recovery. “Women’s empowerment should extend beyond International Women’s Day, and this event is just the beginning. It was so refreshing to collaborate with so many talented females in an empowering setting. We understood that we should never be afraid to adjust each other’s crowns. I realize that ERC has been a safe haven for growth and opportunity for many women despite all the disparity in the world. The organization has always supported and nurtured its female leaders.”
Established on June 3, 2020, ERC’s V.O.I.C.E. (Voices of Inclusion, Change & Equity) Council aims to promote and encourage expansive acceptance, growth, and opportunities for ERC employees regardless of race, gender, religion, age, sexual identity, and all other unique identifiers. The success of the Empower the VO.I.C.E. of Women Workshop has galvanized the council to start plans to host the event again next year and is also planning a similar event for International Men’s Day later this year, in November.
