ERC ORGANIZES A FUN-FILLED AFTERNOON FOR GIRLS IN NEED.
In an afternoon filled with joy, laughter, and songs, the girls from the Pasitos de Jesus Orphanage welcomed a delegation of ERC employees to their home with wide-open arms. ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, makes several visits to the orphanage each year.
As with any visit to the orphanage, the first item on the agenda was the girls’ empowering welcome song, where they proudly sing about being unique. Next on the agenda was bracelet making, which the girls took to with great enthusiasm. Most of the girls proved to be adept in the art of bracelet-making, and it wasn’t long before the friendship bracelets were exchanged all around. While some girls expressed themselves through arts and crafts, others had their faces painted by locally renowned graffiti artist Ramon Torres.
For many years, ERC has been proud to sponsor Pasitos de Jesus, a girls home located in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. With over 40 girls ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years old, Pasitos de Jesus is a sanctuary for girls who have nowhere else to turn. Due to neglect, abuse, and terrible family circumstances, most of the children are placed in the home by court order. Pasitos de Jesus sets them on a path where they are safe and loved.
Through contributions by organizations like ERC, the girls have everything they need to grow into strong, independent, and educated young women.
“The next project we are developing is establishing an English school for the girls,” said Dalma Florian, Pasitos de Jesus Girls Home Director. “Learning English will open up many wonderful opportunities for the girls in the future.”
To help them achieve this goal, the ERC delegation, spearheaded by Stephanie Todd, ERC’s Chief Strategy Officer, donated the first batch of English books.
“This is a visit I look forward to year after, year, time after time,” said Todd. “It had been a long time coming due to Covid-19 and we were so happy to be able to attend. To see the smiles on their beautiful faces, knowing how many obstacles each one of them has overcome, it takes your breath away and makes my heart melt every time.”
“I love spending time with the girls. It’s truly magical to see them grow and develop. Each time we visit, I leave a piece of my heart with the girls,” said Nibrainy Paredes, ERC’s Communications Coordinator. “Our team had a wonderful time playing games and bonding with the girls. It is so humbling knowing that each of them came from a difficult past, but you don’t see that in their little eyes. Instead, all you see is love, joy, and pride. I am deeply comforted to know that our team has made a difference.”
