GLOBAL EVENT BRINGS GREAT TURNOUT
ERC celebrated World Environment Day with a beach cleanup across the company’s Florida and Dominican Republic sites. ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, brought employees together for this global initiative and a great cause.
In Florida, dozens of ERC employees partnered with Beach Go Green to help clean up Hanna Park in Atlantic Beach. Beaches Go Green provides awareness and education around the waste that humans produce and how it affects the planet. The Jacksonville-based non-profit aims to simplify complex environmental issues so that everyone can make sense of them and make changes in their own lives for the better of the planet.
The team of more than a hundred volunteers at Hanna Park helped collect 1,367 cigarette butts and 19 bags of litter total. This employee engagement initiative was all accomplished through ERC Cares, ERC’s charitable arm and volunteer wing of the company.
“It was a beautiful day for our volunteers to get out and extend a hand,” said Sarah Hartland, ERC’s Employee Engagement Supervisor based in Jacksonville.
In the Dominican Republic, dozens of ERC employees spent World Environment Day volunteering at Montesinos Beach in Santo Domingo to help pick up trash. ERC’s DR based Employee Engagement team coordinated with Santo Domingo’s City Hall to hold the event.
“The team had such a great time, and the weather was perfect for our event,” said Rose Fortunato, ERC’s Employee Development Director based in the Dominican Republic. “The before and after following the beach cleanup was significant and we made tremendous progress on the look of the beach.”
ERC’s Employee Engagement team plans volunteer events and activities through ERC Cares. Throughout the year ERC partners with local charities in the communities where ERC operates.
