HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS REMOVE LITTER BEFORE IT REACHES THE OCEAN
JACKSONVILLE, Florida, April 9, 2022 – ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, joined forces with Beaches Go Green to help clean the streets and sidewalks of Jacksonville Beach.
ERC is a proud sponsor of Beaches Go Green, a not-for-profit organization that provides awareness around waste and how it affects the planet. Through its corporate responsibility program called ERC Cares, ERC partners with Beaches Go Green and other organizations several times a year for community and beach clean-ups.
The event saw more than 450 volunteers scouring sidewalks and landscape beds near Jacksonville Beach for trash; their goal was to collect the garbage before it reached the beach or the ocean, washed by rainwater or blown in by the wind. The volunteers’ efforts resulted in 300 pounds of debris, 75 bags of trash, along with 28,000 cigarette butts being hauled away.
Prizes were awarded to the volunteers who collected the most cigarette butts or found the strangest item.
“Working with ERC and Beaches go Green was a great experience.” Said Chason Osborne, an Employee Engagement Liaison at ERC. “Giving back to the community should always be a priority and being a part of a company that gives back is amazing.”
