COMPANY VACCINE IS A HUGE SUCCESS FOR ERC
ERC believes employee’s health and safety is paramount and holds an onsite employee COVID-19 vaccine drive. ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, teamed up with the Dominican Republic government to offer the COVID vaccine to its employees.
ERC Employees based in the Dominican Republic were given the option of getting their first dose of the COVID vaccine on June 10th and 11th. ERC offered employees the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccine. Employees now have the opportunity to get a second shot at the appropriate time.
“This is an important initiative for ERC and our staff,” said Jose Nelton Gonzalez, Executive Vice President of ERC. “We care about the health and wellbeing of our employees and worked hard to make this vaccine drive possible.”
ERC employees were given time away from work to make sure that if they wanted to get the vaccine they could. Employees waited patiently while the first dose of the vaccine was distributed to staff throughout the drive.
“While ERC excelled operating working from home, we hope that with more employees receiving the vaccine our sites can get back to operating at full capacity,” said Zishan Ahmed, Vice President of Operations at ERC.
Hundreds of ERC employees elected to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Santo Domingo. ERC encouraged employees in San Isidro to get vaccinated when Industrial Park held its vaccine drive in May at the polyclinic. The Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines are currently being offered to DR residents.
“It has been a very long year away from employees face-to-face,” said Daiana Jimenez, Director of Employee Services at ERC.
Currently nearly 40% of DR residents have received the first dose of the vaccine, according to the most recent statistics from the Our World in Data website. The DR is outpacing countries like Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia by double digits at getting the vaccine distributed to its general population.
For the third year in a row ERC received the certification by the Dominican Republic government for health and safety in the workplace amid a global pandemic. ERC is the first global contact center in the Dominican Republic that has attained the DR Ministry of Labor’s Certification for compliance with Regulation 522-06 on Health, Hygiene, and Safety at Work. This certification sets the standard for safety control measures and adequate health protocols in workspaces.
